NCCFL, formerly Capitol Trail Junior Football League, has been serving the youth of New Castle County for 46 years. Originally formed in 1960 in the Capitol Trail area CTJFL consisted of just four separate teams. Over the years we have grown to encompass a large part of New Castle County. Hence our new name New Castle County Football League. Over the next few years we will be expanding to cover even more of New Castle County. If you would like to volunteer to help form an expansion team ( or to help out with a current team) please leave your info in the volunteer section. NCCFL will host 11 divisions this year. Each division consists of four football teams and three cheerleading teams. We currently teach over 1400 children football and cheerleading skills every year. In 2006 we opened the Largest Football Complex in New Castle County! The complex will continue to grow and improve over the next few years. Winter of 2006 saw our first Winter League Football in New Castle County! This grew last year from 4 to 6 teams. We expect it to grow again this year and have Caravel Academy's support for the expansion! We are currently working on plans for our own practice fields in two locations, as well as expanding two more divisions to better cover Northern New Castle County. Winter of 2007 we began our traveling competition cheer squads! This is why we are Delaware's Premier Youth Football and Cheereading League! Our league philosophy is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for your child to learn the skills of football and cheerleading. Our coaches will teach the skills that are appropriate for each age group. Our mission is to teach all of our athletes good sportsmanship, as well as the skills of the sport. Our coaches are all trained to place the self esteem of your child and enjoyment of the sport above that of competition and winning. We encourage our parents to take the same approach to youth sports. Parent Awareness Training is mandatory to assure the maximum benefit, safety, and enjoyment of the sport for our athlete's. At least one Parent/Legal Guardian of each athlete must attend the training in order to receive their uniform.
Our games are split across Saturday and Sunday. Our Pee Wee and Midget teams play on Saturday and our Junior and Senior teams play on Sunday. Our cheerleaders cheer at the respective games. There are no Pee Wee cheerleaders. Pee Wees have a nine game season only. Midget to Seniors have a nine game season and then two playoff's and a championship game. Our cheerleaders have a cheerleading competition. For more info on costs and individual levels of play check out the Football and Cheerleading pages.
