Midget Information

The NCCFL Midget teams
are designed to take new players and provide them the basic
skills needed for football. Midgets play with some modified
rules to assist learning and play at their age level. It is
a competitive division but with a strong emphasis on learning
and having fun over the aspect of winning. All
NCCFL athletes receive a minimum of one quarter of
play. Midgets
play a ten game season like the Juniors and Seniors. There
will
be a wild card game and championship game at the end of the
season. The Midget games will be held on Saturday.
This season games will be held at our new 4 field complex at
Blue Diamond Park. Midget games are officiated by our entry
level Jr /Sr l official crews. Our midget teams are for 9-10
year olds and may carry 30 players.
An athlete's league age is determined by their age on October
31st. We only sign up to 30 athletes for a team and then we
will
assign
them
to adjoining
teams. A Midget running back must weigh less than 85 lbs,
ends
must weigh less than 95lbs, all other players will be marked
as lineman. Midgets games have a 10 minute running quarter.
Practice will be 5 nights a week until Labor Day, then
must drop to no more than 3 nights. At NCCFL we are
always in search of coaches and directors that posses the skills
and
character to coach at this level. Click
here if you would like to volunteer as a coach or director.
The sign-up cost for the Midget team is $40 (non-refundable)
cash, Master Card, Visa, Discover, or check. Avoid the
long lines at sign-up by registering
on-line, just pay by credit card. The equipment
fee of $110 will be collected at equipment handouts. You
may cover this cost by selling an additional raffle tickets
or reduce it by $10 dollars per athlete by signing up and
taking you parent class in May or $5 in June! There is a $120 family fee that covers our lease and maintenance on Blue Diamond Park. This fee allows you and all of your guests free access to the games at Blue Diamond Stadium. This fee may be covered by selling a single banner or year book ads totaling $150 dollars. By investing a small amount of time selling raffles and ads your athlete may participate for as little as $40. We also offer the opportuniy
to earn a credit for new athetes reffered to the league. Click
here for details! All
athlete's are required to have at least one parent or guardian
attend
the Parent Awareness Seminar. You
will receive your raffle tickets and information packet in your parent
class. This class has really improved the practice and game atmosphere
allowing
our athletes a much better sports experience. ID
cards will be issued for receiving equipment. No equipment will
be
issued under any circumstances without this obligation being met.
Class sizes are limited and will be closed to sign-up when they
fill.
If you miss a class for an emergency reschedule immediately. Participation in the raffle sale of 50 $3 tickets is requied. All parents (Benefactors ecluded) are responsible for up to 3 volunteer activities when asked. For 2008 this will include traffic control and cart assitance and field days at Blue Diamond Stadium. There would be a $75 fee if you are unable to participatre in these activities. You
may also choose a one time Gold Benefactor donation of $450 for one
athlete, $750 for
two and $950 for a whole immediate family living at the same address,
which would cover all of your costs and volunteer commitments. For 2008
we are offering a Platinum Benefactor Donation that
will, in addition to all the Gold benefits, get your
athlete(s) new cloth (except Game Jersey) and Pads
as well as shoulder pads and Helmet as available by
fit. You will be fitted first with the equipment staff
on the Monday before equipment starts to avoid the
lines and assure maximum availability of new equipment. The
Benefactor Donations are donations and are not refundable
under any circumstances! Practice
begins on August 4th with equipment handouts beginning the week of August
10th and games beginning
on September
6th. The league banquet will be in December. All athletes receive a trophy (size determined
by team placement) and yearbook
at the banquet. Our teams and executive board are staffed with an
all volunteer force.
This
is
how we keep
costs
to
a minimum.
We
are
always
in
search
of volunteers who posses the skills to teach youth sports. If you
can help out please click here to volunteer. |
